History
Humify was founded in February 2023 by Professor Markus Antonietti, Harald Pinger and Andreas Dittes. Leveraging Professor Antonietti’s innovative process for producing artificial humic substances, they brought together a team of experienced scientists, engineers, and business specialists.
The laboratory is based at the SEE:LAB Technologie- und Gründerzentrum in Teltow, near Berlin. The team is continually expanding, combining expertise in laboratory research, engineering, and business development.

Harald Pinger
Co-Founder & CEO
Harald Pinger looks back on a long career in managing big and publicly listed companies as CEO and CFO. In the last years he has invested his money and energy in supporting promising impact start-up companies. He strongly believes that Humify is able to offer a cost effective and scalable solution for the climate crisis. He is convinced that Humify Humus is the perfect example of combining science and business to create a lasting impact.
Andreas Dittes
Co-Founder & COO
Andreas Dittes is a serial entrepreneur and has already built up multiple technology start-ups including the leading active sourcing technology provider Talentwunder. He comes with extensive expertise in technology, automation and human resources. He is highly concerned about the climate crisis and thus very motivated to limit its effects on the coming generations.
Prof. Dr. Dr. hc Markus Antonietti
Co-Founder & Scientific advisor
The scientific expertise lies with Prof. Markus Antonetti. Since 1993 he has held the positions of director of the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, and a lecturing professor at the University of Potsdam, in Germany. He is a highly decorated, internationally renowned and award winning chemist with an impressive record of over 900 scientific publications (h-index of 219). His research interests cover topics such as porous polymers, biomimetic materials, and green and sustainable materials chemistry and he holds over 90 patents.
